Rajni has started eating non-veg foods

Rajni fell ill on April 29th while participating in the shooting which commenced on the same day. He was admitted in the Isabella Hospital twice. Later on he was admitted at the Porur Ramachandra Hospital.

He was admitted as he was suffering from various ailments like respiratory problems, excessive fluid in the lungs and kidney failure. He was given intensive treatment. He was also given dialysis. Then as per the advice of Amitabh Bachchan he was taken to Singapore and was admitted at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital on 24th May. He was given hi-tech treatment there.

His health conditions improved considerably. The swelling in his legs have come down fully. The dialysis time was reduced from 6 hours to 4 hours. Now dialysis had been completed stopped. There is no necessity for his kidney transplantation now. Rajni is very cheerful and is spending his time watching TV. He has started eating solid foods like idly, rice and non vegetarian items.

It is understood that he will be discharged from the hospital in a week’s time. But he will not return to Chennai immediately. His family have rented an apartment. Rajni’s wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya, Soundarya, son-in-law Dhanush and grandsons are staying in this apartment now. Rajni on his discharge will be taking rest in this apartment for a month’s time.

The additional news is that Rajnikanth has contacted director K S Ravikumar over the cell phone and enquired about the work connected with Raana. K S Ravikumar has advised him to take complete rest before they commence the shooting.
